Privacy Policy

Poochi (the App) is a gut-health tracker that helps you log bowel movements and observe your own patterns. Your privacy is central to how it's built: everything you record stays on your device. This policy explains what that means.

1 Data Stays on Your Device

• Local-only storage: your logs (Bristol stool type, colour, volume, symptoms, pain, notes, water and food entries), your XP/pet progress, and your username are stored only on your phone. There is no cloud account and we do not upload, transmit, sell, or have access to this data.
• No sign-up with us: accounts are local to the device and protected by a PIN you choose. Your PIN is never stored in plain text — it is hashed with SHA-256 and a random per-user salt.

2 What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or contact details to use the App.
• We do not upload your health logs to any server.
• We do not use your data for advertising, and there are no ads in the App.
• We do not access the camera or microphone.

3 Notifications

If you turn on reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device to nudge you to log. These are generated on-device and are not sent through our servers. You can turn them off anytime in the App or your device settings.

4 Your Control: Export & Delete

• Export: you can export your raw data as a JSON file at any time.
• Delete: deleting your account in the App permanently removes your data from the device. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
• Uninstalling the App also removes its local data, following your operating system's behaviour.

5 Not Medical Advice

Poochi summarises trends from what you log and is not a medical device. It does not diagnose. When a log shows potential warning signs — such as blood, black or pale stool, or severe pain — the App shows guidance to consult a health professional. Always seek qualified medical advice for health concerns.

6 Third-Party Services

The App itself does not send your health data to third parties. If, in the future, an optional paid upgrade is offered, purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own privacy terms; we would only receive the purchase status needed to unlock features, never your health logs.

7 Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. As all data is local, a parent or carer managing the device controls it.

8 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will revise the effective date above.
